BBC Sport will broadcast live coverage of the annual European Team Athletics Championships from the Stockholm Olympic Stadium over the weekend of 18-19 June as Great Britain strive to better last year’s second place.
The British team face champions Russia and 10 other nations in the two-day competition, which is now in its third year. The highlight of the opening day promises to be the men’s 100m, featuring a possible rematch between Britain’s Dwain Chambers and France’s Christophe Lemaitre. Chambers dipped under 10 seconds for the first time in nine years to put Lemaitre in his place at last year’s competition, but the Frenchman avenged that defeat to take gold at the European Championships.
Other British winners on the opening day last year were European and Commonwealth champion Dai Greene in the 400m hurdles, Mo Farah over 5,000m, Martyn Rooney in the 400m and Colin McCourt in the 1,500m.
Jonathan Edwards presents the live BBC coverage over the two days.
