BBC Two will broadcast coverage of the Powerade ION4 Great Manchester City Games live on BBC Two on Sunday 15th May, following earlier coverage of the Great Manchester Run and the Great Salford Swim.
John Inverdale and Colin Jackson present the action from Deansgate, in the heart of Manchester city centre, as several track stars from around the globe compete on a specially laid athletics track.
Three times World Championships 200 metres gold medalist Allyson Felix will clash with Olympic 400m champion Christine Ohuruogu. Their 200m straight track head-to –head clash is tipped to be a major highlight in the 13 event programme which is bursting with world class international and domestic talent who will be chasing success at the innovative street event.
Felix said : “I love this concept of street athletics where the spectators are virtually rubbing shoulders with you and make it so exciting. I’m delighted to be returning and hoping to score another win.”
BBC Two coverage commences at 3.30pm – 5pm with commentary from Steve Cram and Paul Dickenson.
