Former WBO World Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Maccarinelli will make his light-heavyweight debut in London on Friday 18 November against unbeaten Hungarian Gyorgy Marosi in a fight live on BoxNation.
The Welsh boxer dropped down from cruiserweight to rebuild his career after deciding against retirement following four defeats in eight fights.
Maccarinelli was stopped in his last fight against Germany’s Alexander Frenkel, losing his European cruiserweight title in the process and causing him to reconsider his future in the sport. However, after talks with promoter Frank Warren, Maccarinelli decided to make the drop down to 175 pounds.
Speaking ahead of the fight, Maccarinelli said: “I’m feeling great at light-heavy, very fast and agile.
“I’ll be looking to put in a solid performance at York Hall so I can start challenging for domestic and then eventually world titles.”
Promoter Frank Warren added: “Marosi is unbeaten and judging by his impressive knockout record I’m sure he will come to fight.
“But Enzo will be looking to put in a good performance as he bids to get himself on the road to success at light-heavyweight and even perhaps to becoming a two-weight world champ.”
