Sky Box Office HD will show seven title fights all of which feature British boxers, as part of a marathon five-hours of live boxing on Saturday, September 18, billed as ‘The Magnificent 7′.

The bumper night of boxing at Birmingham’s LG Arena night will feature many of Britain’s best boxers in contests that could propel them towards world title bids.

The event includes: a world title eliminator, three European title fights and a British title fight – all exclusively live and in high definition.

The announced line-up features:

  • MATTHEW MACKLIN v SHALVA JOMARDASHVILI
  • NATHAN CLEVERLY v KARO MURAT
  • JAMES DeGALE v CARL DILKS
  • DEREK CHISORA v SAM SEXTON
  • JAMES DeGALE v CARL DILKS
  • ENZO MACCARINELLI v ALEXANDER FRENKE

Jim Watt, Sky Sports boxing commentator said: “This is a fantastic line-up of British boxing talent. The likes of Cleverly and Brook have proved that they have wonderful ability; but this is now their chance to stake a claim for a world title shot. It is also a great chance to see some of the best young boxers in the country like Olympic gold medallist James DeGale.”

Promoter Frank Warren, who stages the show said: “This is by far the most competitive promotion that I ever put together in my 30 years in boxing. It’s a fantastic line-up with top-quality fights from top to bottom that will really excite the fans in attendance and viewers live on Sky Box Office.”

He added : “There are some intriguing 50/50 domestic showdowns like Brook v Jennings, and Chisora v Sexton; Macklin and Hall excite whenever they fight; Nathan Cleverly has the opportunity to fight for the world title next if he beats Karo Murat; Maccarinelli is involved in a hard European title defence, and the fans will see the stars of the future, including James DeGale.”

The Magnificent 7 will be available on Sky Box Office HD and Sky Box Office on Saturday, September 18 (start time to be confirmed) and the event will be priced at £14.95 for UK customers.
