Simpson v Smith rematch on Sky Sports

Commonwealth featherweight boxing champion Stephen “Swifty” Smith takes on Scotland’s John Simpson in a rematch live on Sky Sports on Wednesday 27th April.
Smith 25, beat Simpson the first time around in September last year to take a split-decision in the Scotsman’s own backyard, at the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow and Simpson 27, will be looking to gain sweet revenge on Smith’s home patch next week.
Topping the bill at the Liverpool Olympia, Smith will be hoping to claim Simpson’s newly acquired British title, which the Greenock boxer claimed after defeating Ulsterman Martin Lindsay in December whilst Smith was out injured.
Whilst Smith is unbeaten in eleven contests so far, Simpson, the elder by two years, has seven losses on his eight and a half year career, but brings a wealth of experience to the table and it is sure to be another close contest when the two meet again.
