Sky Sports’ head of boxing, Adam Smith is said to have expressed his desire to secure the rights to screen WBC titleholder Carl Froch’s future fights.
Smith told the Daily Telegraph that he is a “huge admirer” of the Nottingham fighter, whose previous deal with ITV fell apart when the broadcaster dropped the sport.
Mr Smith revealed he is doing his “utmost” to broker an agreement that would see Froch’s upcoming bouts aired by Sky Sports.
“There is no question that he is right up there at the top level and I will do my very best to see if we can put his future fights on,” he explained.
Froch’s latest victory in the ‘Super Six’ tournament against Arthur Abraham was shown exclusively on satellite channel, Primetime TV last weekend.
