American TV network ESPN is to launch a European version of their flagship sports show, SportsCenter on it’s digital TV channel ESPN America in the UK.
The Guardian reports that the 30 minute highlights and information bulletin will air at 7am on ESPN America with an updated show later at 10.30pm. The new version of the show will be hosted by Michael Kim, an ESPN stalwart since 1996 and will be based at the network’s headquarters in Connecticut.
SportsCenter has been on air since the network launched in the US in 1979, and celebrated 30,000 editions on February 11, 2007.
