Sky Sports News HD announce launch

Sky have announced that the HD version of their Sports News channel will launch on August 23rd on the broadcasters digital platform.
This date is also expected to mark the demise of the service on the Freeview platform as the service is pulled in favour of a timeshifted version of Sky 3.
Sky have also announced that the date will coincide with the launch of a Sky Sports News iPad application.

“I’m delighted that through a combination of our move to HD, broader editorial coverage, and innovation on the TV, PC, iPad and mobile, we will once again raise the bar in broadcast sports news journalism.”
