Jeff Stelling and Ben Shephard have emerged as the bookies favourites to replace Richard Keys as Sky Sports’s main football presenter. Keys resigned on Wednesday following controversy over leaked footage of him making remarks about a female official, a day after Sky sacked pundit Andy Gray.
Stelling, 55, has won enormous popularity on Sky’s Soccer Saturday, and he is also the host of daytime quiz show Countdown. Former GMTV host Ben Shephard, who fronts Sky Sports’s Goals on Sunday programme is also considered to be a front runner.
Other names said to be in the frame include Sky Sports News presenter Dave Jones, who stood in for Keys on Monday Night Football this week.
In light of the circumstances of Keys departure, a number of women contenders have emerged, with the front runner seen to be BBC’s Gabby Logan. Other female contenders include Sky Sports News presenters Georgie Thompson and Charlotte Jackson.
Bookies seem more certain about the identity of Gray’s replacement as Sky’s lead football analyst, with Jamie Redknapp an odds-on favourite.

The fans favourite seems to be James Richardson of C4 Football Italia fame (amongst others).
Good call, but doubt it would happen.
