Manchester will host the final round of the 2010-11 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics series this February with coverage on BBC Two. Following the 3 rounds in Melbourne, Beijing and Cali in Columbia riders will arrive in the North West competing for the points that will decide the World Cup titles between 18-20 February.
It is the third successive year that the event has been held in Manchester with over 200 riders from more than 30 nations competing on the site of some of the great moments in the history of cycling. Sir Chris Hoy, Victoria Pendleton and Bradley Wiggins will race for the qualification points that could make British cycling dominant at the 2012 Olympics.
Last year, Britain won nine gold medals in Manchester – it is a vital stage before next month’s World Championship in Holland. Coverage is on BBC Two on Sunday 20th February between 1.30pm – 5pm.
