Eurosport will broadcast live coverage of the world’s most famous cycling road race, The Tour De France 2011 , starting with the Teams Presentation on 30th June.
The broadcaster has covered the Tour for over 20 years and has acquired unrivalled experience and know-how to cover the event. Once again, Eurosport will provide comprehensive daily coverage from each stage with more than 80 hours live and four on site film crews.
Eurosport begins its coverage of the Tour on Thursday 30 June at 2.45pm, with the classic live presentation of the 20 participating teams, this year in Vendée, France where the 2011 Tour will start.
From 2 – 24 July the broadcaster will cover all 21 stages live and viewers won’t miss a minute of what is produced for television. The live action will be enhanced by reports and interviews from Eurosport’s on-site teams.
Philippe Gilbert will be the consultant rider during the Tour de France and will be providing daily analysis from the race. In addition, right after the end of the stage there will be a live programme featuring riders, team managers and other guests to analyse and discuss the talking points of the race. In the evening, viewers will have another chance to catch the last hour of the stage in nightly highlights programmes.
