The draw for the 2011/12 UEFA Champions League group stage will take place in Monaco on Thursday 25 August and Sky Sports will be broadcast live coverage of the event.
Ten play-off will winners join the 22 automatic entrants in the group-stage draw at the Grimaldi Forum, with the 32 sides split into four seeding pots and one from each drawn into the eight groups. Seeds are based on UEFA’s coefficient system and no team can meet another from the same association.
Premier League representation includes Manchester United, Chelsea and Manchester City, and Arsenal who saw off the threat of Udinese in their play-off second leg on Wednesday.
Sky Sports News HD will provide live build-up, reaction and coverage of the draw. Julian Warren will host a special show at 4.30pm, with guests Alan Smith, Ray Wilkins and Dwight Yorke on hand to offer their verdicts. Alongside the draw there will be a presentation made to UEFA’s Player of the Year, with 2011′s top performer to be crowned.
After the draw is made Sky Sports News will speak live with club representatives to get exclusive verdicts on how things have panned out for the British teams.
Coverage will also be available on British Eurosport from 4.45pm.
