ITV1 will broadcast two England friendly international fixtures in November, against Spain on Saturday 12 November and Sweden on Tuesday 15 November.
England v Spain
The first of the two fixtures sees the much anticipated international friendly between England and Spain at Wembley Stadium.
Fabio Capello’s men face the toughest of tests in their first game since securing qualification to the European Championship Finals next summer.
Spain, the reigning world and European champions, boast a host of stars. The Barcelona trio of David Villa, Andres Iniesta and Xavi will relish a return to Wembley, the scene of Barcelona’s impressive Champions League triumph six months ago.
Capello has promised to blood new players in the build-up to Euro 2012. A key consideration however is how much he dares to experiment against the mighty Spain.
England v Spain LIVE from Wembley Stadium is on ITV1 HD on Saturday 12 November at 4.45pm (5.15pm kick off), presented by Adrian Chiles.
England v Sweden
England’s second home international sees Sweden’s first visit to the new Wembley Stadium, and their first trip to London since the goalless draw at Wembley in 1999.
Both sides have secured their places at Euro 2012 next summer and regard tonight’s match as vital preparation in the build-up to the Finals in Poland and Ukraine.
The two sides have not met since a pulsating 2-2 draw at the 2006 World Cup Finals in Germany when Joe Cole scored one of the goals of the tournament. Much has changed since then, but Fabio Capello knows the importance of a morale-boosting performance in England’s final international of 2011.
England v Sweden LIVE from Wembley Stadium is on ITV1 HD on Tuesday 15 November at 7.30pm (8pm kick off), presented by Adrian Chiles with Roy Keane and Gareth Southgate in the studio and commentary from Peter Drury and Andy Townsend.
