England play their final international of 2010 on Wednesday, November 17 as they face France in an international friendly at Wembley, live on ITV1 / HD.
It has been a tumultuous year for both teams, and each will be hoping to chalk up a win before the three-month international break. Both England and France suffered a terrible World Cup run, however England have had solid victories against Hungary, Bulgaria and Switzerland during the Autumn. England concluded the first round of qualifiers for the 2012 European Championship with a disappointing 0-0 home draw against Montenegro.
This fixture is a chance to prove that the Montenegro performance was merely a blip, and that England are able to compete against the best international sides. For their part, France had a woeful summer which saw their World Cup campaign melt down in a tumult of disciplinary and management issues. New coach Laurent Blanc has stamped his authority on the squad, and a win at Wembley will be the perfect way to round off his first run of games in charge.
Adrian Chiles is joined in the studio by Danny Murphy and French World Cup winner Marcel Desailly. Commentary comes from Clive Tyldesley and Andy Townsend. The match is live on ITV1 and kick-off is at 20:00.
