ESPN have announced their first ten live fixtures of the 2010/11 Barclays Premier League Season, commencing with defending champions Chelsea as they take on newly promoted West Brom on Saturday, August 14 at Stamford Bridge.
ESPN’s early season Premier League schedule features teams from last year’s top seven and 12 of the 20 Premier League teams. Live matches in August also includes Championship winners Newcastle United as they host Martin O’Neill’s’ Aston Villa on Sunday, August 22.
Manchester United feature on three occasions, at home on Saturday, August 28 against West Ham Utd, away to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, September 25 and against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Saturday, October 30.
Ray Stubbs will again be on presenting duties with Kevin Keegan alongside him as lead analyst. Jon Champion will be joined in the commentary box by Chris Waddle and Joe Royle, who will alternate between co-commentary duty. ESPN’s matchday reporter Rebecca Lowe, will continue to cover the exclusive stories from managers and players on the touchline.
This season also sees ESPN extend their coverage to multiple platforms after acquiring exclusive mobile highlight rights to all 380 Premier League matches per season over the next three seasons. The rights allow ESPN to deliver in-match, post-match and customised highlights, including goals, to football fans in the UK via mobile devices.
