ESPN has renewed its agreements to broadcast live and exclusive coverage of some of Europe’s leading football leagues and competitions, including Serie A, Coppa Italia, Italian Super Cup, Dutch Eredivisie and the Russian Premier Liga.
These leagues and competitions add to ESPN’s established schedule of top-flight UK and European domestic football, plus internationals, with at least two matches each week from Italy’s elite division, alongside Coppa Italia games, the Italian Super Cup clash between AC Milan and Inter Milan in August, plus dozens of games each season from the Dutch Eredivisie and Russian Premier Liga.
ESPN will continue to broadcast ESPN Kicks – Serie A, showing all the goals from the weekend’s action. The Coppa Italia returns to ESPN, with live matches set to be broadcast throughout the competition. To add to the selection of top European football, live coverage from the Dutch Eredivisie and the Russian Premier Liga will be broadcast alongside weekly highlights and goals.
Jeroen Oerlemans, Vice-President TV Channels, ESPN EMEA, said: “The renewal of these agreements is an excellent result for all football fans in the UK, giving them access to live and exclusive coverage of some of Europe’s leading football leagues and competitions. We are building an excellent portfolio of live football and sport on ESPN.”
