FA Cup 2nd Round TV matches announced

November 15, 2011   ·   0 Comments

The FA have announced the three ties from The FA Cup with Budweiser Second Round to be shown on live on ESPN & ITV1 next month.

What promises to be an exciting weekend of FA Cup action starts on ESPN on Friday 2 December, when Fleetwood Town host Yeovil Town at their Highbury stadium in a 7.30pm kick off.

Despite being down to ten men, Micky Mellon’s side disposed of League One Wycombe Wanderers to book their place in the Second Round with goals from Jamie Vardy and Andy Mangan sealing a 2-0 win for the Conference Premier high flyers.

AFC Totton put eight goals past Bradford Park Avenue at the weekend and their home clash with Bristol Rovers on Sunday 4 December is ITV1′s choice of match at 12.30pm.  The televised fixture will land the non-league club a guaranteed windfall of £72,000.

The Southern League Premier outfit went goal crazy in front of a record 2,315 crowd for their Testwood Stadium while Bristol Rovers saw off Corby Town thanks to a Scott McGleish penalty and second half strikes from Mustapha Carayol and Chris Zebroski.

Sutton United made headlines when they upset top flight Coventry City in 1989 and the Conference South outfit will be back in the spotlight on ESPN when they face Notts County at their Gander Green Lane ground on Sunday 4 December.

The Magpies had no problems in seeing off Accrington Stanley in the First Round with two goals from Karl Hawley while Alan Judge and Alan Sheehan also found the net in a 4-1 win.

Notts County are no strangers to Sutton, having chalked up a 1-0 win there in the First Round three years ago. The two sides go head-to-head this time round at 5pm.
