The 2011/12 FA Cup 6th Round draw will take place live on ITV1 and FATV at 4.10pm on Sunday 19 February, following ITV1’s coverage of Stevenage v Tottenham.
The draw for the quarter round stages will be carried out by former Manchester City and Sunderland manager Peter Reid who will also be reunited with his FA Cup runners up medal from 1986.
Reid auctioned his medal to raise funds for Plymouth Argyle, but, after parting company with the Home Park side last year, The Football Association made a decision to issue a replacement to the former Manchester City and Sunderland manager.
Reid was part of the Everton team that lost 3-1 to Liverpool in the 1986 FA Cup Final with Ian Rush scoring twice and Craig Johnston netting for the Reds after Gary Lineker had put the Toffees in front. Capped 13 times by England, Reid will receive his medal at the start of the 6th round draw at 4.10pm.
Alongside Reid will be Wayne Allison who recently accepted a new role with The FA at St. George’s Park, the new national football centre in Burton upon Trent set to open later this year.
Allison made over 750 club appearances in a 21-year career that saw him play for Sheffield United in the 2003 FA Cup Semi-Final against Arsenal at Old Trafford. Allison also scored the winner as Tranmere Rovers dumped Reid’s Sunderland out of The FA Cup Fourth Round at Prenton Park in 2000.
