ITV4 will screen full live coverage of this years FA Trophy Final featuring Barrow AFC vs Stevenage Borough on Saturday 8th May. Laura Wootton, publicity manager for ITV, confirmed to The North West Evening Mail yesterday that the game was on the station’s schedule, and that it would be screened live from Wembley.
AFC general manager Martin Lewis said: “I honestly don’t think it will put people off going. “People will want to go to Wembley and sample the atmosphere like in 1990. There’s nothing like actually been there.”
He added: “There are those, of course, who can’t make it, so it’s good for them if it’s on the TV. It might encourage those doing the Keswick to Barrow walk (on the same day as the final) to complete it that bit quicker!”
Barrow picked up the trophy in 1990 following a 3-0 victory over Leek Town.
For those looking in to see if the 2010/11 FA Trophy Final : Darlington v Mansfield is live on TV, no broadcaster has picked up the rights this year.
