League One rivals Brentford and Carlisle will battle it out for Johnstone’s Paint Trophy glory at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, 3rd April in a match to be broadcast live on Sky Sports 2.
Carlisle have plenty of prior experience when it comes to the pursuit of this particular trophy after gracing the final just 12 months ago. They were comfortably beaten 4-1 by Southampton
on that occasion, but the Cumbrians have now graced this late stage of the competition six times, coming out on top in 1997.
Brentford
are making their third appearance in the Football League Trophy final, and they are still looking for their first win. Their last outing on such a stage came a decade ago, when they lost the 2001 final to Port Vale.
The match will be broadcast live Sunday, 3rd April on Sky Sports 2 /HD2 with coverage commencing from 1pm.
