Soccer Saturday hits the road with five-venue arena tour

January 24, 2012   ·   0 Comments

The presenters and pundits of cult Sky Sports show Soccer Saturday are taking the show on tour in a five-venue question and answer theatre tour.

Fans of the show can see Jeff Stelling, Phill Thompson, Paul Merson, Matthew LeTissier and Charlie Nicholas and special guest Chris Kamara live onstage in Bournemouth, Liverpool, Birmingham, London and Newcastle for the first time.

Jeff Stelling will anchor what promises to be a superb night of questions and answers and interaction with the live audience. The audience can expect to find out how Jeff keeps up with all the information on a Saturday, how does he know so many obscure facts about Scottish Football and why Charlie Nicholas was called Champagne Charlie ?

Paul Merson will talk frankly and honestly about the highs and lows of an amazing career whilst Phil Thompson will tell what it is like to win every honour in the game.

Matthew Le Tissier, one of the most gifted players of all time, will tell of the ups and downs of playing for Southampton and why he didn’t play for England more. Kammy, one of the most loved pundits on TV, will be down amongst the audience to take your questions to the panel to see if you can catch Jeff out. Plus there will be the chance to see hilarious clips from the Saturday afternoon show.

Tickets for the tour will go on sale Wednesday 25 January with the five dates and venues confirmed as :

19th March Bournemouth BIC
30th April Wembley Arena
14th May Liverpool Echo Arena
28th May Newcastle Metro Radio Arena
8th June Birmingham NIA

The tour follows a similar experiment held at the Mayflower, Southampton last September when the Soccer Saturday team took to the stage for ‘An Evening with Jeff Stelling, Matt Le Tissier, Paul Merson, Phil Thompson, & Charlie Nicholas from Sky Sports’. See clips from the show below :
