Sky Sports have announced their selection of matches to be screened live across their platform on the last day of the 2010/11 Premier League season. As is tradition on the last day, all games kick-off simultaneously at 4pm on Sunday 22nd May with crucial relegation issues set to be decided.
Manchester United v Blackpool
Manchester United face another final day fixture in which their opposition is facing relegation. They play host to a Blackpool side needing a win to assure their Premier League status and may need to rely on results in the other day’s fixtures. Coverage commences at 3pm on Sky Sports 1 / HD1.
Stoke v Wigan
Wigan’s dramatic comeback against West Ham not only confirmed the London side’s 20th place finish and subsequent relegation, but kept their hopes of avoiding the drop alive. Like Birmingham and Blackpool, Wigan’s fate could come down to goal difference if all three sides fail to earn a point in their respective matches. Currently they have the worst goal difference amongst the teams facing the drop. This game will be live on the red button on Sky Sports 1 / HD1 from 4pm.
Tottenham v Birmingham
Birmingham’s 2-0 home defeat to Fulham last weekend means they’re also under the threat of relegation. Currently they sit above Blackpool and Wigan despite being level on points, but they are only 1 and 2 goals better respectively so goal difference could be crucial. Tottenham are currently placed 5th and on course for a UEFA Europa League spot, however with Liverpool snapping at their heels there is more than relegation at stake at White Hart Lane. This game will be broadcast live on Sky Sports 2 / HD2 from 3.55pm.
ESPN will not be broadcasting any live matches on the last day of the season as they have used up all of their match selections for the season, resulting in the final day being screened exclusively live on Sky Sports.
