The UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League knockout round draws take place in Nyon on Friday 16 December with live coverage on Sky Sports News & British Eurosport.
The pairings for the UEFA Champions League round of 16 and UEFA Europa League rounds of 32 and 16 will be made during ceremonies staged at UEFA, starting at 11am and 12noon respectively.
The draws will be conducted by UEFA General Secretary Gianni Infantino and UEFA director of competitions Giorgio Marchetti, assisted by the ambassadors for the 2012 finals in Munich and Bucharest, Paul Breitner for the UEFA Champions League and Miodrag Belodedici for the UEFA Europa League.
The UEFA Champions League draw will pit the winners from one group against the runners-up from another, with the runners-up playing the first leg at home. Winners and runners-up from the same group cannot be drawn together, likewise clubs from the same association. There is significant domestic interest in the draw for the London clubs with both Arsenal & Chelsea waiting to discover their opponents.
Sky Sports News HD will broadcast full coverage of the Champions League draw from 10.30am with Julian Warren joined in the studio by Terry Venables, Alan Smith, Ray Wilkins and Jamie Redknapp for expert analysis. Chief Football Reporter Nick Collins will be out in Nyon to speak to the men that matter and to bring you on-the-spot reaction.
The UEFA Europa League round of 32 draw will see the 12 group winners and the four best third-ranked teams from the UEFA Champions League group stage, drawn against the 12 UEFA Europa League runners-up and the four remaining third-ranked teams from the UEFA Champions League. Winners and runners-up from the same group cannot face each other. Group winners and the four best UEFA Champions League refugees will play their return legs at home. Again, clubs from the same association cannot meet.
For the UEFA Europa League an integral round of 16 draw will follow, with the qualified teams from the round of 32 indicated as winners of matches 1 to 16. The first side drawn will play the first leg at home.
Manchester United, Manchester City and Stoke City are amongst the domestic sides who will feature in the draw for the UEFA Europa League.
Sky Sports News will broadcast live coverage of the draw from 10.30am on Friday 16 December, whilst British Eurosport will be on air live at 11am.
