S4C has unveiled its schedule of live televised football matches for the first weeks of the 2011-2012 Welsh Premier League season.
S4C’s flagship football series Sgorio will televise matches on Saturday afternoons on most weekends. The first live match of the new season will see current champions Bangor City take on Welsh Cup winners Llanelli on Saturday 13 August, kick-off 3.45pm.
Sgorio will continue to broadcast highlights of the Welsh Premier League on Monday nights at 10pm which will also include football from some of the major European leagues. In the first programme on Monday night, Dylan Ebenezer, Malcolm Allen and John Hartson will be following Swansea City’s fortunes as they open their historic first season in the Premiership, away at big spending Manchester City.
The programme also includes the best of the action from all the weekend’s Welsh Premier League fixtures including highlights from the Farrar Road clash featuring champions Bangor and Cup holders Llanelli.
During September and October, S4C will also broadcast highlights of international matches featuring Wales – Wales v Montenegro on 2 September and Wales v Switzerland on 7 October.
S4C’s football presentation team includes Morgan Jones, Alun Williams, Dylan Ebenezer, Malcolm Allen and analysts John Hartson and Dai Davies.
