British Eurosport have commited to MotoGP for a further twelve months, taking its current contract to the end of the 2011 campaign. The extension means Eurosport will continue to boast a full portfolio of top flight motorcycle racing next year along with exclusive rights to broadcast the World Superbike Championship and MCE Insurance British Superbike Championship.
For each of the 18 races on the 2011 MotoGP schedule, Eurosport will show live practice and qualifying sessions for the premier class as well as support categories Moto2 and 125cc, live races for Moto2 and 125cc and – as has been the case since 2009 – the MotoGP races in full but delayed by an hour.
Toby Moody and Julian Ryder will once more team up to report on-site from the Qatar curtain-raiser and each of the European rounds. All of the action will also be broadcast online on Eurosport Player.
Eurosport UK’s Managing Director, David Kerr said: “Renewing our deal to broadcast MotoGP is great news for fans of the sport. We have been able to provide a very comprehensive package of coverage around race weekends which give them access to all the practices and qualifying in full.
“Motorcycle racing is an important part of Eurosport’s programming and I am pleased the loyal and passionate fans who follow our coverage can continue to do so to the same level in 2011.”
The new season commences on 20 March 2011 in Qatar.
