Lee McKenzie is to become the first female Formula 1 presenter on British TV in the sports 6o year history, when she covers the main presenter role for the Japanese Grand Prix in October.
The Telegraph reports that McKenzie, the BBC’s trackside reporter will take the main anchor role for the race as regular presenter, Jake Humphrey will be on Commonwealth Games duties in Delhi.
Miss McKenzie will present the programme with the rest of the regular team, Formula One drivers Martin Brundle and David Coulthard and former team boss Eddie Jordan providing the punditry.
Miss McKenzie, a former Sky Sports News presenter joined the programme last year as part of the new team when coverage transferred from ITV to the BBC.
