The BBC will broadcast live coverage from perhaps the most prestigious race in the Formula 1 calendar, the Monaco Grand Prix from the streets of Monte Carlo this weekend.
Britain’s Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton have both won here but it was Red Bull’s Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel who dominated in 2010. Webber claimed victory from pole in Monaco last year while Vettel has a first win around the famous circuit in his sights.
Lewis Hamilton believes McLaren can increase the pressure on Red Bull this weekend. Having finished only half a second behind Red Bull’s race winner Sebastian Vettel in Barcelona, Hamilton said: “We have something good coming for Monaco.”
Michael Schumacher will be hoping that memories of his five victories here help kick-start his season with Mercedes GP after a lacklustre opening to the campaign.
BBCF1 coverage is presented by Jake Humphrey, with commentary from Martin Brundle and David Coulthard – a two-time winner of this race. BBC F1 coverage of the Formula 1 – Spanish Grand Prix is simulcast in HD on BBC One HD on Freesat channel 108, Freeview channel 50, Sky channel 143 and Virgin Media channel 108.
