Sky Sports News have announced plans to broadcast from the site of all 20 Grands Prix for up to six days and to be in attendance for every day of every test session.
Senior Sky Sports News reporters Rachel Brookes and Craig Slater will be embedded to work amongst the teams both at races and during the upcoming ‘test season’, with the channel pledging to “provide viewers with breaking news stories, detailed analysis and extensive coverage of each Grand Prix, including on-site build-up and reporting for all 20 races.”
Sky Sports News coverage of each Grand Prix will begin with on-site reports each Tuesday and running through the week to post-race reaction.
“This is the ultimate news service for F1,” enthused Andy Cairns, Sky Sports News HD Executive Editor.
“Our reporters will be trackside and in the Sky Sports News HD studio ensuring viewers are always up to date with what’s happening on and off the track.
“And viewers with iPads will be able to follow our F1 coverage wherever they happen to be via the new Sky Sports News app which features on-demand video, the latest news and interviews, data as well as Sky Sports News itself.”
The Sky Sports News service will complement the comprehensive coverage of every session of every Grand Prix on the new Sky Sports F1 HD channel set to launch in March 2012. Sky Sports News has already started to build up it’s F1 coverage with features from the headquarters of Caterham, Williams and Marussia, and plan to be in attendance for the launches of the 2012 cars and driver line-ups throughout February.
The new season begins with the Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park, Melbourne on March 16-18, with exclusive live coverage of each session on Sky Sports F1 HD.
