The BBC have announced plans for their coverage of the XIX Commonwealth Games from Delhi, India commencing with the opening ceremony on Sunday, October 3.
The BBC plan to broadcast around 180 hours across BBC One and Two as well as approximately 1,600 hours on BBC Red Button (3-14 October).
The BBC Team of presenters for the games will include Clare Balding, Sue Barker, Jake Humphrey, John Inverdale and Hazel Irvine with reporters Phil Jones (athletics), Sharron Davies (swimming), Jill Douglas (cycling), Matthew Pinsent, Rishi Persad and Sonali Shah. Former Australian multi-Olympic gold-medal winner Ian Thorpe will also join the team to report on all the action from the pool.
Live coverage will be split across BBC One and Two between 09:00-18:00 with live action from the main events (coverage commences at 07:00 during cycling events). Later at 19:00 there will be an hour long highlights programme featuring the best of the day’s action.

Also on anthem, I love Jerusalem as a hymn and prefer it. The words are particularly relevant for anyone who strives to do well for England. PS I know all the words. I do think they could do with just one of the verses not the whole two.
