The 2012 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship will take place at Alexandra Palace from December 15 – January 2, as players from around the world compete for a £1 million prize fund in darts’ biggest event.

The West Hall will welcome tens of thousands of fans over the course of 15 days and 20 sessions to the tournament, which spans the Christmas and New Year period and broadcast live on Sky Sports.

Reigning World Champion Adrian Lewis, world number one Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor, Holland’s Raymond van Barneveld and stars including Gary Anderson and James Wade will be in action during the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

Play is held from December 15-23 before the Christmas break, and returns from December 27-30 as the field of players plays down to the last four – who return for the semi-finals on New Year’s Day and the final on Monday January 2. Both the semi-finals and final will also be broadcast live on Sky 3D.

The tournament will also mark the return of Sid Waddell to the Sky Sports commentary box. The ‘voice of darts’ has announced that he will make a return on December 21 after a three-month break from TV after being diagnosed with bowel cancer.
