Ski Sunday, the BBC’s weekly magazine programme featuring skiing, snowboarding and winter sports returns to BBC Two for a new season on Sunday 8 January 2012.
In the opening programme, Graham Bell and Ed Leigh present coverage of the men’s giant slalom from the Swiss resort of Adelboden.
French newcomer Cyprien Richard shocked the field here in 2011, storming to victory on the legendary Chuenisbargli slope. But he will do well to repeat his feat in the face of stiff competition from giant slalom world champion Ted Ligety and the current Olympic champion Carlo Janka.
Ed also travels to Colorado to catch up with Britain’s most successful snowboarder, Jenny Jones, as she targets Slopestyle gold at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The main BBC Two programme will be followed by Ski Sunday Extra at 5.30pm on the BBC Red Button with highlights of the men’s slalom 2nd run from Adelboden.
The BBC Red Button will also screen live coverage of the men’s slalom 2nd run from Adelboden at 12.15pm on Sunday 8 January.
Ski Sunday is on BBC Two & BBC HD from Sunday 8 January 2012 at 4.45pm.
