The BBC will show Ireland, Scotland and Wales’s autumn internationals on live TV this year following a series of new deals announced by BBC Sport.
BBC Sport has also signed a deal with the RFU to provide highlights coverage for all of England’s international fixtures up to 2013 inclusive. As a result of the deal, BBC viewers can look forward to watching Ireland’s games for 2010, 2012 and 2013, Scotland’s 2010 Tests and Wales’s fixtures for 2010, 2012 and 2013.
Philip Bernie, head of TV Sport at the BBC, said: “We’re delighted to have renewed our partnership with the WRU, IRFU and SRU. We look forward to bringing top-class rugby to our audiences.”
Bernie added: “The autumn internationals continue to grow in intensity and importance as the Home Nations test themselves against the best of the southern hemisphere and take stock ahead of the forthcoming Six Nations Championship. We value the ongoing relationships we have with the Home Unions.”
