Sky have announced the return of Heineken Cup rugby with a line-up of 40 live fixtures this season.
The first weekend of action kicks off with Northampton v Castres at 8pm on Friday, October 8 followed by a further 9 ties, including reigning champions Toulouse taking on two-time winners London Wasps on Sunday, October 10 at 1pm.
Martin Turner, executive producer for Rugby Union on Sky Sports said : ”The Heineken Cup is the premier rugby competition in Europe and we’re giving it the best possible coverage. With more matches than ever before and superb high definition coverage, Sky Sports really does give the viewers at home quality coverage.”
ERC Chief Executive, Derek McGrath, said : “The Heineken Cup goes from strength to strength, and once again the tournament has thrown up a host of fascinating contests in the pool stages.”
He added : “The road to the 2011 final at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff will be as demanding as ever and we are looking forward to what promises to be another vintage season for European club rugby.”
