The 2011 Players Tour Championship Grand Finals will be held at The Helix in Dublin between 16-20 March, marking the return of top-level snooker to Ireland for the first time in six years.
The 24-player-tournament will carry world ranking points as well as a £60,000 cheque for the winner. The early rounds of the Players Tour Championship have already been played over the past few months, with former world champion Shaun Murphy, world number five Stephen Maguire and world number nine Mark Selby among the stars taking part.
“It’s been quite a few years since we’ve had an event in Dublin but I know how much the fans love snooker in Ireland and all the players will really be looking forward to it,” said Selby. The last World Snooker event held in the Republic of Ireland was the 2005 Irish Masters.
Eurosport will cover the tournament live between 17-20 March.
