The BBC and British Eurosport will broadcast coverage of snooker’s second biggest ranking tournament, the 12BET.com UK Championship from December 4 to 12 at the International Centre in Telford. The UK Championship is one of snooker’s most historic and celebrated events, a regular fixture on the calendar since 1977 with most of the sport’s greatest names inscribed on the trophy.
Defending champion Ding Junhui will open up proceedings, where the top 16 players are drawn against 16 qualifiers. All eyes will also be on John Higgins who continues his return to the game following a six-month suspension. Also competing for the £625,000 prize fund this year will be the likes of Ronnie O’Sullivan, Stephen Hendry and Neil Robertson.
Matches are the best-of-17 frames, played over two sessions. Hazel Irvine, Steve Davis and John Parrott present coverage from the Telford International Centre on BBC TV. Live daily coverage will also be available on British Eurosport.
