The 2011 Barclays ATP World Tour Finals take place at the O2 Arena in London between November 20 – 27, as the men’s elite gather in the year-end culmination to the professional tennis season.
The tournament features the world’s eight best singles players and doubles teams as they battle it out for the prestigious title and the five million dollar prize.
Eight players are divided into two groups of four, and play three round-robin matches each against the other three players in their group. From there, the two players with the best records in each group progress to the semifinals, with the winners meeting in the final to determine the champion. Winners are awarded up to 1500 rankings points.
This years line-up includes World No.1, Novak Djokovic (SRB), Rafael Nadal (ESP), Andy Murray (GBR), Roger Federer (SUI), David Ferrer (ESP), Tomas Berdych (CZE), Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) & Mardy Fish (USA).
Sky Sports will broadcast full coverage of the event with daily coverage of each afternoon session from 12 noon and the evening sessions at 6pm. BBC Two will broadcast a live match every day of the tournament on BBC Two (and BBC HD) from 2pm along with one semi-final and the final live.
Sue Barker presents the live BBC coverage with commentary from Andrew Castle and Tim Henman. If any match runs beyond scheduled network time, coverage will continue on the BBC Red Button.
Speaking ahead of the tournament, World No.2 – Rafael Nadal said : “It’s always a pleasure to play in London. It’s a fantastic city and The O2 stadium is one of the nicest indoor stadiums in the world. It was a fantastic tournament last year for me, playing in the final, with very emotional matches. I’m very happy to be qualified and to come back again this year.”
British hopes are on Andy Murray who hopes to improve on his semi-final appearance last year, he said: “Each year, one of my goals is to qualify for the season finale in London, so it’s great to have made it again. I’ve had some really good matches at The O2 in the past, especially my semi-final against Nadal last year. Hopefully I can do even better this time around. The support I get from the home crowd has always been incredible and I’m really looking forward to playing there again.”
Title holder, Roger Federer said : “It feels great to qualify once again. I had a great week at The O2 last year so I look forward to defending my title. The atmosphere there is incredible.”

why were we only getting the afternoon matches? just as you were getting into it it’s switched over to sky. so if you don’t subscribe to SKY you are out of luck phooey!!!!!
